My Appreciation of the Hard Work: Opinion Essay

To begin with, throughout my whole life, nothing stands out more than self realization, and an accomplishment. Let me paint you a picture, image me as a 14-year-old class clown. My grades were terrible, I didnt care for school. I would guess on every test and fail without a care. Instead, of paying attention in class, I would crack jokes and laugh the whole period. When report cards came out I would be the happiest kid alive if I have gotten Cs. In a nutshell, I was headed down the wrong direction. As I matured over the summer, I made a realization. I needed to do the best I can in order to achieve my goals. So during that school year I completely switched, I was the polar opposite. I was opposite of everything people thought of me as. I strived for success by building a great work ethic. Like the saying goes, theres no substitute for hard work. You can achieve almost anything, if you put the time in. As I progressed throughout the year, I got the honor roll. This was an monumental moment because it meant a lot to me.

It meant more to me than anything else. I came from being a D and F student, to next year being on the honor roll. It meant a lot to me, because no one expected anything out of me. That was an accomplishment, which started a turning point in my life. Just because I was a nobody, didnt mean I cant change myself. I can do whatever I desire, if I put the work in. I started to think it wasnt because I was stupid, its because I didnt apply myself. My point is that if you want to accomplish something, work hard. You have to go through the struggle to really appreciate what being on top feels like. My realization was that I was going in the wrong direction. My accomplishment was a honor roll. The honor roll really meant a lot to me. It embodied the whole process, from the ups and downs. The process taught me a life lesson that I will never forget. If youre not where you want to be, its not because you were born to fail. its because you didnt work hard enough. What else is there to say, if you want it nothing can hold you back.
