We are in the day and age of technology. Technology can be helpful in some ways and can hinder in a lot of ways. Take Facebook for example, everyone posts about their day and what they just ate or what they did the night before. It sounds cool to do but then if that one night you go out with friends and get drunk and post about it, chances are your employer can see that and fire you over that. I came across a situation at a previous employer one time. I only use Facebook, Im not one to use Twitter or Snapchat. I was working at a nursing home at the time and worked on a team of some young girls. I was 5-8 years old then some of them. I know that may not be a lot of years but it can when I am over the party phase. W
e would have to get residents up for the day within an hour and a half each day. It took a lot to do, so when one person calls out it put us shorthanded. There was one girl who would always show up late to work or not even show up at all. This made our jobs 10 times harder to do. I finally got fed up with it. I found out that she was going out the night before partying and either coming in hungover or calling in sick at 2:00am. Another coworker of mine had Snapchat, she checked her snaps and she snapped herself drunk the night before. I brought this to my supervisor attention. She got fired for not showing up. I hated to get someone fired but I was tired of being left alone doing my job and her having no repercussions.
