Internet Access Must be Limited for Students

One reason why internet access should be limited to students is because of the lack of creativity and the ability to actually think. The advancement of technology has a strong effect on student creativity. Now that there is no limit to internet access, student’s creativity is going downhill. Limiting access impairs student’s ability to complete projects assigned by teachers, limits student access to creativity, says the National School Boards Association. Students restrict themselves from using their imagination, by going straight to the internet. This era of technology has changed their mindsets in different ways (Sanderson). Meaning, that they do not feel the need to think anymore, at the fact that the internet has everything they are looking for with more detail. Instead of making us stupid, he wrote, the Internet and technology are the only things that will keep us smart (Mind Over Mass Media, New York Times). Yes, it will keep them smart but on the inside, they are going to feel stupid because it is not what they thought its what the internet, google, or Siri told them.

net access, not just students, but people are getting more lazy to think on their own. The only thing students have to do nowadays is searching up whatever theyre looking for and in seconds the results or answers pop up. Using other resources teaches children to think more than if they use an internet search engine and then just cut and paste into a report…the internet can lead to lazy researching (Pitcher). Students aren’t even as slick like Rod Pitcher said, they just copy and paste, which is plagiarism. They do not care if the answer from the website is right or wrong, just as long as they get it done and get the response to their question. Not all but some students do things just for accuracy. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Last September OECD released claims that computers distract children, make them lazy thinkers and, if used too frequently, can even lower academic standards. Laziness can have negative effects on their education. For the student that wanted to go to college, this could change their minds, just knowing all the work that has to be done.
