Engelhaupts report places the responsibility squarely in the lap of individual news readers/viewers, while Sydells interviewee Coler suggests that as long as advertisers are willing to pay for it, fake news will continue to thrive. Certainly, such a complex problem needs to be confronted in various ways and from multiple angles.
