Your task is to develop a hypothetical program aimed at helping delinquent or at-risk juveniles. Before you develop your program, you will need to review two effective programs similar to the hypothetical program that you wish to develop. You will need to review the programs and discuss them in your own words.
Part 1: Program Review
From the www.crimesolutions.gov homepage, select Programs & Practices. Next, select Programs. Use the search feature to narrow down your results to find two effective programs of your choice.
For each of the two programs that you review, make sure to include the following:
The title of the program
An overview of the program
What population(s) the selected program serves
What types of activities are conducted
What theory the program is based on
In your opinion, what makes this program effective
Part 2: Hypothetical Program
Next, you will create your hypothetical program. As you develop your hypothetical program, please include the following:
The title of the program
The population your hypothetical program serves (i.e., delinque
nt youth, at-risk youth, etc.)
The age group your program serves
Where your program takes place (i.e., school, community, youth detention center, home, etc.)
An overview of the program
The types of activities that will be conducted
How long the program will last
What theory or theories your program is based on
Any other details that you think may be critical to the success of your hypothetical program
Expectations
Your paper should be 3-5 pages long. Please include a title page and a references page (these pages do not contribute to the overall page count). Your paper and citations should be in American Psychological Association (APA) format (typed, double-spaced, one-inch margins all around, 12-point font). Points will be deducted for spelling/grammar errors and papers that do not apply required formatting. The layout of your paper should be as follows:
