Write an original research paper entitled, “In Search of Knowledge: Factors Associated with Mental Health and COVID-19” or a paper entitled “In Search of Knowledge: Factors Associated with COVID-19 Disparities”. Use the outline below
• complete a review of article abstracts and statistical data on suicide disparities between certain groups within the U.S. and/or other countries of your choice. This section of your paper will be entitled, “Understanding of the Problem”. (Heading)
• In the second part of your literature review, search for article abstracts regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and mental health or, for health and/or other disparities and COVID-19. (Chapter 3 in the text teaches you how to perform research).
• For the mental health paper seek to answer the following questions: 1) “How is COVID-19 affecting mental health among the nation’s, worlds, or other country’s populace?”; 2) “What are the most common mental health issues that have arisen as a result of the worldwide pandemic. i.e. higher suicide rates, more mental he
alth hospitalizations, etc.?” and 3) “Are there disparities among people with mental health issues brought on by the pandemic? If so, what are they?”
• For the COVID-19 disparities paper, seek to answer the following questions: 1) “Are there health disparities in COVID-19 populations in the nation (or world, or other country of your choosing?”; 2) “What groups have the most health disparities regarding COVID-19 (i.e., testing, care, deaths, immunizations, etc.?” and 3) “Are there disparities among people with COVID-19 that are related to their race (i.e. Native Americans), or location (i.e. Appalachia, etc.), their education, marital status or other factors? If so, what are they?”
• Now write your “methods” section of the paper. How did you find your data source? How did your sources collect their “data”? Are you able to construct data tables?
• Now interpret and analyze your findings (you can use an online regression calculator).
• Write a brief section on the implications of your findings.
