Case Study Case Study Assignment, Grading Rubric, and Resources
This e-mail provides much detail about our final assignment- the Case Study which must uploaded in iCollege Please note that papers received late will have points reduced 5% per day.
To maximize points earned, please carefully review the grading rubric. You will be taking the case forward and will need to carefully address these guidelines:
Informed Consent: Note two additional key items that need to be included in the informed consent form that you go over with Brianna. (See informed consent example. You do not need to develop a form, but note, based on the case, two additional key items that you would want to add/include.
Engagement: Describe what approach you would use to engage/connect with Brianna. What interpersonal/communications skills would you employ? (See attached PowerPoint)
Practice Framework/Approach: What framework or approach would you use to work with Brianna and why. (See attached PowerPoint)
Initial Questions: Assuming the initial greeting and signing of the informed consent form is complete, note specifically the first two questions you would ask her and why.
Probing Questions: Using critical thinking, note the next two questions you would ask, based on the primary pieces/areas of information you would want to explore, and why. (Interviewing was addresses in your Communications Skills course; PowerPoint also attached on the topic).
Goals and Measurements: Based on the information you currently have, write two specific goals that would likely ensue as well as specifically how each would be measured.
Evidence-Based Practice: List two evidence-based interventions that could be used in this case, which could be at any level [micro, mezzo or macro]. Please note the specific source that documents that each is evidence- based.
Evidence-Based Prevention: Note one prevention approach/strategy/program that could be used and the source for being evidence-based.
Practice Informed: How could the literature (evidence) inform your practice, and specifically how could your outcomes inform the practice of others?
Leadership: Note something that could promote sustainable changes that could improve the quality of services for this population/problem. This could be services, policy, partnerships, law, etc.
Summary: Using a critical thinking approach, please conclude with a summary of your take on the case, how the case might conflict with your own personal beliefs/values/culture, if you would want to work with this population/problem as a social worker, and any other observations or conclusions that you would like to include.
Please see the attached PowerPoint from last semester on engagement. The communications skills chapter from last semester is also attached. Approaches were addressed in Unit 7 (PowerPoint attached).
Finally, I have attached an example of a former studentΒs paper, but you will obviously provide your own work based on your views of the case.
