OUTLINE EXAMPLE
I. Introduction A. AGD – What do you think of when you hear GOAT? Not the animal, GOAT as in greatest of all time. Many probably automatically think of people like Lebron or Kobe. For others, it may be a friend of yours who ate the entire plate of nuclear wings at wing stop and will forever be a legend in your book. To you, that’s your GOAT. Well for me, it’s not just o
ne person, it’s an entire team: the Dodgers
B. Significance/interest – Just two years ago, the New York times on February 28th, 2020 explains that Houston Astros stole a championship title from the Dodgers by cheating, so most people don’t have current proof that the Dodgers are the GOAT.
C. Thesis – So today, let’s look at how why the Dodgers are, officially, the GOAT.
D. Preview – To do this, we’ll look at the Dodger’s past, then look at their present, before finally looking to what the future has in store for the boys in blue.
II. Body A. Pt. 1 Claim + support –> The first reason they are the greatest is because they have one of the oldest legacies of winning. According to MLB Network on January 12, 2020, the Dodgers have one of the greatest winning percentages of all time.
B. Pt. 2 Claim + support –> The second reason the Dodgers are the GOAT is because they currently have the most stacked lineup. According to Bleacher Report, last accessed March 12th, 2020, while the Dodgers already had one of the most enviable lineups in baseball, they just acquired Mookie Betts and David Price.
C. Pt. 3 Claim + support –>The final reason the Dodgers are the best is because they’re going to be great for a long time to come. According to ESPN’s 2025 future rankings on December 6th, 2019, the Dodger’s are already ranked #1 in the power rankings for that future season.
III. Conclusion A. Review/ Re-state thesis – So today, we explained how the Dodger’s really are the GOAT by looking at their past, present, and future.
B. Re-AGD – So while you’re entitled to your Kobe’s, your Mike Trout’s, or even your Obama’s, next time someone asks you who the GOAT is, maybe you’ll give the boys in blue a second thought.
